Vertual

Vertual
“Vertual Ltd stemmed from a collaboration between the University of Hull and Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. Its pioneering virtual reality technology is aimed initially at radiotherapy training but its potential medical applications are vast.”
Professor Andy Beavis, Head of Radiation Physics, Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust and co-founder of Vertual Ltd
Vertual Ltd is pioneering virtual reality technology to help improve cancer survival rates and dramatically cut NHS training costs. Virtual Environment Radiotherapy Training (VERT) is a 3D interactive radiotherapy training device that offers an accelerated, safer and more cost effective way of training radiotherapy staff using a virtual training centre. The business has already sold over 50 systems, with a first year turnover in excess of £3m.

VERT, originally a joint development between the University of Hull and Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, is now set to go global thanks to the dedication and determination of a team of NHS and university computer science specialists from the region.

VERT is placed in the ten accredited radiography teaching universities in England, and the Hull company is now making moves into international markets with a sales network spanning North America, Europe and Australasia.
