Health magazine praised at awards ceremony

13/04/2010
A magazine produced for Hull residents has been commended at a recent awards ceremony. 'ThreeSixFive'; the annual report and accounts of NHS Hull; received an award of excellence at the Communicators in Business (North) Awards 2010. The ceremony took place on Friday 26th March at the Midland Hotel, Manchester.

Rachel Johnson, Corporate Communications Manager for NHS Hull says:

'We're delighted to have received the award as it recognises the hard work put in by the Communications Team. The award is also thanks in part to our patients and members of the public, as without their input and agreeing to share their experiences, the report would not have been nearly as successful or as meaningful to local people. '

The magazine contains a wealth of information about local healthcare, including interviews with staff and patients, service updates, and a handy directory of useful contact numbers.

Research carried out earlier in the year showed that almost 9 in every 10 readers of ThreeSixFive considered it 'good' or 'excellent'.

Rachel continues:

'We wanted to make the magazine attractive to readers, and we knew that we didn't need to look very far afield to do this. All of the photographs were taken in Hull and the magazine itself was designed by Hull-based marketing company, Eskimo Soup, so it is really is a magazine which celebrates local people and local achievements in healthcare.'
