Hotels
With the increasing demand for business and leisure hotel accommodation predicted to grow to around 170,000 nights over the next five years, we are keen to expand our current offer.
At peak times of the week, hotels in Hull's city centre secure 80% occupancy levels and there is still demand for up to 500 additional beds at 3-star and above. A recent assessment indicates that an estimated 13,000 room bookings are displaced every year and are also swamped with requests for quality function, meeting, and conference and exhibition space.
The current undersupply in a growing market, strategic sites for development identified in Hull's City Centre Masterplan|, in addition to the lack of 4-star provision in the city centre, means that there are huge opportunities for hotel operators to invest in Hull and with help from us at every step of the way, investing here couldn't be easier.
Specific opportunities have been identified for new hotels in the city centre:
Humber Quays - 4 star with between 150 and 200 bedrooms
Without a doubt our new waterfront business district, Humber Quays, offers an ideal investment opportunity for our first flagship 4-star full-service hotel. With a brand new business market on its doorstep, Humber Quays| offers a magnificent setting overlooking the Humber Estuary amidst the new prime office quarter and close to the city centre core.
Fruit Market - two hotels with a total of 210 bedrooms
Adjacent to Humber Quays at its junction with Hull Marina, the Fruit Market| area links the Humber with the River Hull waterfront and offers a truly unique investment opportunity for two boutique hotels. Significant development will create a cosmopolitan mix of contemporary studio space, complemented by restaurants, bars and specialty shops. We have identified one site with priceless views overlooking the Marina and the second on the River Hull, opposite our award-winning visitor attraction, The Deep.
